The Lafayette Bar Association got together for its annual party at the LBA building, and a classy affair it was. “It’s the only time you get to see some people,” said LBA Executive Director Josette Gossen Abshire. Seeing and being seen were LBA prez Kyle Gideon, Kirk and Brenda Piccione, Lafayette Young Lawyers Association President Dwazendra Smith, Jack McElligott and Judge Francie Bouillion.

Dona Renegar and Melissa Theriot co-hosted the Kappa Delta Alumnae at the Renegar residence on West St. Mary Boulevard, where some 40 ladies brought holiday gifts for Faith House. There wasn’t just one tree, but several, and sisterhood and cheer abounded. “Our mission is philanthropic, to create an atmosphere of service,” said Liz Snyder. Members making the most of the holiday season were Judy Kennedy, Linda Alesi, Jane Mouton and Kathy Mere, who may very well have the best cocktail outfit of 2015.

Moss makes merry

Sharon Moss and Curtis Roy hosted friends and associates for a party at Abacus. Guests streamed in steadily from 7 to 9 for the DJ and buffet, while Coury Moss played Santa Claus. What we loved: Dave and Mary Guidry, who made things merry and bright at our table.

City Club breakfast

The Realtors Association of Acadiana installed Allen Duhe as their new president over one of City Club’s elegant breakfasts. Renovations in front made parking a challenge, but members gathered nevertheless to bid adieu to outgoing President Lori McCarthy and recognize Realtors Emeritus Jane Ortego and Jim Welch, plus Realtor of the Year Debbie Foreman.
