Former Gov. Kathleen Blanco has been inducted into the Order of Living Legends by the Acadiana Museum of Erath. Blanco was honored by the Fondation Culturelle du Patrimoine Acadien for her dedicated promotion of Acadian culture, and among those attending were Warren and Mary Perrin, Daniel Bentley, Kermit Bouillion and Robert and Jackie Vincent. The Living Legend Series honors individuals who have helped to shape Cajun culture.

The ghost of Halloween past

Jackie Robeck gave a party for her spiritual friends, all on a Hallow’s Eve. Brenda Dudley and Al Steward co-hosted the annual affair — Robeck’s ninth — while Sandra and Ronnie Leboeuf catered and DJ Mike Bourgeouis raised the dead. Sadly, we couldn’t make it this year, but Donna Jones, Kevin Louviere and phantom family Robert and Kim Minyard and Katie and Tom Barrilleaux survived to tell the tale.
