Troubadours held their past kings’ party at DeGaulle Square Bistro in River Ranch. The party started in the bar next door and went from there, as Richard Coeur de Lions both past and present gathered for a last hurrah before the ball. Lions were everywhere, including Darrellyn Burts’ minaudière, and reveling at the elite sit-down dinner were His Majesty Miles Matt, Andy Harwood, Mark Mitchell, generous gentlemen Mike Remondet and Peter John, and “Royalty Road” ladies Alexa John, Janice Copeland and Garnet LeMaire, who share the same street. “Where kings are really made,” said John.

Neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night stops newly-minted State Rep. Julie Emerson from completing her appointed rounds. The Mystick Krewe of Louisianians held its ball in Washington, D.C., an unfortunate venue this year. Despite blizzard-of-the-century conditions combined with Mardi Gras mayhem, Emerson not only delivered, she looked good doing it. Also Louisiana-strong were Daynese and Randy Haynie, Scott Mayor Purvis Morrison and wife Mary and Scott Boudin Queen Chelsea Noel.
