The Order of the Troubadours honored its kings both past and present with an elegant banquet in City Club’s Fleur de Lis ballroom. “I was a company president for 40 years, and someone else would have done all this,” laughed event chair Chuck Lein. “I’ve been here since 7:30 this morning.” Oh, but so well worth it — the tables were beautifully decorated as was Vicki Milam, Margaret Ruffin, King Richard Coeur de Lion Don Johnson, Sir Kenneth Mike Crochet, Yvonne and Mark Mitchell, Darrellyn Burts, Bart Bernard and Southern gentleman Mike Remondet. The question of the night was rib eye or sea bass and where did Ruffin get her glittering lion minaudière. “Judith Leiber. My husband hit the slots in Vegas and wanted to buy me something.” Luck really is a lady after all.
