Adults Only: ‘Tini Tuesday
Fezzo’s has the lead on fun for sure. The Ambassador Caffery crew hosted Healing House for another weekly installment of Absolut Best Martini, and patrons had to park by the side of the road. Bar manager Cyndi Perry worked some magic with Absolut Mandarin, Ponchatoula Rouge Swamp Pop, Triple Sec and raspberry sugar, and what better way to unwind on a weekday. We have it on good authority from our Youngsville Advocate rep that “fezzo” is local French dialect for spool, and management’s hopes were anything but threadbare for winning. “We have a really good fan base,” said Perry. In the mix: Legendary Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns sportscaster Don Allen sporting a classic martini, as well as martini socks, and local music icons Rick Lagneaux and Tony Goulas. Old school is the best school, gentlemen.
Whoever named this event is genius. The Lafayette Public Library held a play date for grown-ups on the second floor, complete with popcorn, games and room to roam, all under the watchful eye of Adult Services Librarian Christopher Melançon. “Adult Services isn’t what it sounds like,” he said. “It’s everything not kids or teens. This is a kind of trend among libraries — games and hula hoops — so we thought we’d try it. It’s a fun program.” Indeed it is, if Sterling Birdwell’s cardboard Fortress of Awesomeness was any indication.
