The ladies and gentlemen of The Inseparable Friends Benevolent Society of Prairie Laurent held their 19th annual Senior Citizens Luncheon recently. The Rev. Borgia Aubespin received recognition for his 52 years of service both here and abroad, presented by state Sen. Gerald Boudreaux. Senate Resolution No. 64 will be maintained in the state archives on Aubespin’s behalf. Guests enjoyed lunch, speaker Dr. Joseph Guillory, plus St. Peregrine prayer cards and medals.

Lâche pas la patate

Warren and Mary Perrin hosted their annual crawfish boil for the Rev. Glenn Meaux in Erath. The event was auctioned at a recent gala and won by William and Lauren Poché, of Lafayette, who invited guests to join them. Local crawfish farmer Ross Hebert provided les écrevisses, and master boiler and Justice of the Peace Eric Toups did the rest. Desserts were homemade and so was the music, provided by Helen Boudreaux, of Catahoula, and Pat Campbell, of Maurice. The event supports Meaux’s Catholic mission to Haiti.
