Lucky Sally Ware turned another year older in the company of family and friends. Honored with a house party at the Harrington Drive home of Marlene Milam, it was the perfect birthday with a cocktail buffet, three cakes and a lovely autumn view. Among those wishing the lady well were Foxie and Stephan Palumbo, Lou Oliver, Dan Hare, Marty and Lee Audiffred, gentlemen Nick Bernard, Mike Saunier and Jean LeBlanc, Daphne Yawn, David Hearne and Tod Doré, of Doré Doré, who never ages a day himself — whatever he’s doing at that salon, we want it.

Oil Center Gallery debuts fall exhibition

We like gallerist Jeromy Young’s perspective. The Frame Shop celebrated the new season with a cocktail reception and new work. The art and hors d’oeuvres were both first-rate, and deep in discussion were Lafayette artist George Loli, Larry and Jean Kreamer, architect and professor emeritus Eddie Cazayoux, businessman Bob Dunn, Raymond and Jarunee McBride and Emily Kean. What we loved: The excellent wine, Tom Secrest’s drawings and John Martel’s ink Horse and Hound.
