Aileen Dauterive hosted a runway show at her Park Lane store in River Ranch.

Enjoying Champagne and nibbles while a parade of models previewed fall, with its skater skirts, one-shoulder wonders and more, were guests including Annie Wingate Spell, mother-daughter duo Lori Berard and Jillian Bouton, restaurateur Ruffin Rodrigue and Amber Viator, due a visit from the stork in just two weeks. What we loved: When we asked little Rylann Viator if she wanted to be a model and earn money for her dad when she grew up, she said “Maybe. But no, just for me.”

Grand Finale

The quest for the Absolut Best Martini came to an end at the Doubletree by Hilton on a hot August Saturday night. The people’s choice went to Walk On’s with Ruffino’s and Zea as runners up, while judges chose Fezzo’s for their first place, barely edging out Chuys and Ruffino’s. VIP pre-party guests enjoyed samples and bid on last-minute silent auction items, and among the standing-room-only crowd were sponsors Moss Motors and Townsquare Media, “Dancing Queen” Rachel Sayes, “Cowboy” Kenny Klusman, DJ Robert Kirkpatrick, whose shirt couldn’t catch a break drink-wise, and Justin Martin who happened to collide with Fête. There’s a penalty for that called having your picture taken. The event completes the Healing House campaign for 2017.

Les Haricots Sont Pas Salés

St. Peter Claver Hall in Grand Coteau held a Black Pot Cook-Out and Zydeco dance. The public partook of regional specialties, not the least of which was Cedryl Ballou and the Zydeco Trendsetters. Proceeds benefited the historic St. Peter Claver Hall.
