The Color Run, a benefit for Hearts of Hope, is Sunday with a warm-up at 8 a.m. and the 5-K race starting at 9 a.m. at Cajun Field.

Runners who register may use a $5 online coupon code, HeartsofHope, and that $5 will be donated to the nonprofit agency, Dugas said.

Runners may pick up registration packets Saturday at Academy Sports, 4232 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.

Car seat safety check

Learn proper installation and usage of a child safety seat during a free, hands-on car seat safety check Tuesday at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Child Development Center, 160 E. Lewis St.

The safety checks are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Student Arts Expo

The 2014 Student Arts Expo, a showcase of performances and visual art exhibits by Lafayette Parish school system students, is Saturday at various locations in downtown Lafayette. The expo features the work of students in grades pre-K through 12.

College receives $120,000

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Moody College of Business Administration recently received $120,000 for its new sales training room.

Local real estate firm Van Eaton & Romero, a Latter & Blum company, donated $60,000 to the sales training room project. Latter & Blum CEO Robert Merrick also made a personal donation of $60,000.

Big Easel show Saturday

The Big Easel is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Town Square at River Ranch.

The art show features 72 artists from seven states and entertainment by the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra.
