Scott Feehan, longtime Festival International de Louisiane volunteer and board member, has been named executive director of the annual world music event, the festival’s board of directors announced Wednesday.
Feehan has served as interim festival director since the resignation last year of former director Missy Paschke-Wood.
Feehan said he was drawn to the open director’s job after working in the interim position through this year’s festival in April.
“I think it kind of grabbed me this year when I had to step up,” Feehan said.
Feehan said he began volunteering at the festival in 2008 and joined the board of directors in 2010.
He was named board president in 2015 and served on the board until he stepped own after this year’s festival to apply for the director’s job.
Feehan also is founder and part owner of Scott’s Drum Center and part-owner of the Acadiana School of the Arts.
