The Louisiana Board of Ethics has voted to file charges against Vermilion Parish Sheriff Michael Couvillon for his purchase of a home that his department seized, KATC-TV is reporting.

Couvillon bought the home at a Vermilion Parish sheriff’s sale auction. Last assessed at $106,000, the home sold for $58,000 when Couvillon purchased it through a representative at the auction, where his was one of only two bids.
