Two of Louisiana’s top political commentators — Pearson Cross and Jeremy Alford — will discuss the upcoming elections as featured guests at the Acadiana Press Club’s forum at noon Monday.

The event will be held at The Daily Advertiser’s first-floor community room, 1100 Bertrand Drive. The free event is open to the public. Following the moderated forum, the two panelists will take questions from Press Club members.

Cross is associate dean of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s College of Liberal Arts, as well as interim head of the criminal justice department.

Cross previously served as the university’s head of the political science department and is a frequent commentator on political issues at the national, state and local levels. His radio show, “Bayou to Beltway” features interviews with government officials and area newsmakers and airs on the university’s public radio station, KRVS.

Alford is the publisher and editor of LaPolitics.com and LaPolitics Weekly and is a regular guest on local and national radio and television news programs. His opinion columns and syndicated news appear in 34 newspapers and magazines throughout Louisiana and provide content for television stations in Shreveport, Lafayette and Monroe markets.

The Bus Stop Food Truck will have food available for purchase and attendees are encouraged to arrive by 11:45 a.m. if buying lunch.
