LAKE CHARLES — The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down on the southeast side of Lake Charles on Thursday morning, damaging one home.

Forecaster Tim Humphreys said the tornado, with winds of 100 mph, lifted the roof off of the home and set it back down three houses down the street. No one in the home was injured.

Humphreys said several nearby vehicles were damaged by flying debris.

North of Lake Charles, he says high winds caused a tree to fall on a house. No injuries were reported.
