LAFAYETTE — Free parking is available for early voters casting ballots during the work week, according to a news release from the Lafayette Consolidated Government.

Early voting begins Saturday and continues through Oct. 15 at the Lafayette Parish Registrar’s Office, 1010 Lafayette St.

Free parking will be available Monday through Friday at the South Buchanan Street Parking Garage, adjacent to the parish courthouse.

The garage is on the corner of South Buchanan and East Main Street.

Voters who wish to receive free parking will need to follow these instructions:

e_SBlt Each driver must get a parking validation ticket when entering the South Buchanan Street Garage and park on the second level near the parking booth.

e_SBlt The driver must bring his or her ticket to the Registrar’s Office and have it validated there.

e_SBlt People presenting validated tickets will be able to park without charge. Anyone not complying with the procedure will be required to pay for parking in the garage.

• Absentee voters who use handicapped parking should park in designated handicap spaces adjacent to 1010 Lafayette St.
