Former prosecutor Mark Garber defeated Scott Police Chief Chad Leger for Lafayette Parish Sheriff on Saturday, pulling away with 55 percent of the votes.

With all 128 precincts reporting, Garber received 31,767 votes to Leger’s 25,992.

With 110 of 128 precincts reporting, Mark Garber leads in the race for Lafayette Parish sheriff with 27,822 votes to Chad Leger’s 22,662 votes.

With 57 of 128 precincts reporting, Mark Garber leads in the race for Lafayette Parish sheriff with 15,993 to Chad Leger’s 11,857.

Early vote results show Mark Garber has received 7,509 votes to Chad Leger’s 5,090, according to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office.

The results include all early votes cast and eight of Lafayette Parish’s 128 precincts.
