Lafayette Police have called a news conference for 10 a.m. Wednesday to discuss the unsolved homicides last month of Aaron Brooks Jr. and Scottie Alfred.
Alfred, 51, was found shot to death around 6 a.m. on May 24 in a four-door automobile in the 300 block of East Foch Street.
Brooks Jr., 32, died after being shot multiple times in the early morning hours of May 8 at his apartment in the 500 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway.
Police have made no arrests in either case. Lafayette Police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton said the two shootings are not believed to be related at this time, but detectives hope to release new details that might spur witnesses or others who know about the crimes to come forward.
