Suspect in the 2010 slaying of a University of La. -Lafayette student makes manslaughter plea _lowres

Police arrested three people Thursday in the Oct. 28 beating death of a UL Lafayette student and the attempted killing of the man's roommate on McKinley Street. Ian Kyle Trahan and Wayland Guillory both were arrested on counts of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Cody Moore was arrested on counts of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

A Lafayette district judge on Wednesday sentenced Ian Trahan to 20 years in prison for his role in the 2010 beating death of UL Lafayette student Kenneth Donnelly.

Trahan pleaded guilty to manslaughter after he was charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder in the death of Donnelly and the injuring of Donnelly’s roommate Rufus Fells.
