Vermilionville will host a free Native American Culture Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Representatives from several of Louisiana’s Native American tribes are scheduled to attend the event, which will feature food, craft demonstrations, children’s activities, music and dance.

Aviation fun day

The Lafayette Regional Airport will hold its 25th annual Aviation Fun Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Airport Rescue and Firefighting Station, 224 Tower Drive.

The event offers children a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations.

Fall farm tours

The Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm is offering a series of farm tours this fall starting Sept. 28 with a tour of the Gonsoulin Land and Cattle Ranch in Rynella.

Future tours are scheduled for Inglewood Farm in Alexandria, Bayou Farm in Ville Platte, WesMar Farm in Moreauville and Mark and Mary’s City Farm in Lafayette.

Adult spelling bee

The Lafayette Public Library Foundation is seeking business-sponsored teams for an adult spelling bee fundraiser on Nov. 13 at the Lafayette Science Museum.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door.

Proceeds will help fund the entrance to the children’s section of the newly renovated Main Library downtown.

Hospice fundraiser

Hospice of Acadiana will hold its annual Cycle for Hospice of Acadiana fundraiser Oct. 11.

The course has 25-mile and 50-mile routes that begin and end at the Oil Center.
