The North Side Soccer Club — an affiliate of the Major League Soccer organization Houston Dynamo — is hosting a Dynamo soccer camp Aug. 1-4 at the fields at 1131 Rue Du Belier Road.
The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and will be coached by former English and Scottish premier league coaches. Professional team scouts will be present.

New teen club starting
The Teen Outreach Program is accepting applications for its program in July.
The program is affiliated with the Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center and targets teens ages 14-17. Teens will meet three times a week for activities that develop skills in areas such as communication, critical thinking about one’s social environment, and the evaluation of healthy choices.

Science exhibit extended
The Lafayette Science Museum has extended the Space Science Institute exhibit “Giant Worlds” until Aug. 31.
The exhibit explores the giant planets that orbit the sun and their relationship in the formation of our solar system and Earth.
The museum is located at 433 Jefferson St.
Museum hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Countdown to games
Games of Acadiana — a major fundraiser for Miles Perret Cancer Services — will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Cajundome and Convention Center.
Opportunities for volunteers, sponsors and donations are still available.
Participation in the family-friendly games is free.
Registration for the nonprofit organization’s triathlon, which will also be held Aug. 20, is open.
The triathlon will begin with a 200-yard swim at the outdoor pool at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Bourgeois Hall. The course also includes an 8-mile bike ride down Cajundome Boulevard and a 2-mile run along the sidewalks of Cajundome, Congress and Reinhardt drives.

Free computer classes
Free computer classes will be offered at both the North Regional and South Regional libraries starting next week.
Classes begin on July 5 at the North Regional Library and July 6 at South Regional.
Classes will cover basic computing, word processing, electronic spreadsheets and integrating Word and Excel.
