LAFAYETTE — Acadiana entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to pitch concepts to a live audience of potential investors, partners and customers at an event next week called “Rapid Pitch.”
The search is on for 14 entrepreneurs who will get a chance to present three-minute pitches of their ideas during the event from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21 at the LITE Center, 537 Cajundome Blvd. Interested entrepreneurs should apply online at rapidpitch.org by Thursday.
The event is organized by The Opportunity Machine, in collaboration with Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and OneAcadia, an Acadia Parish economic development business alliance.
“The entrepreneurial spirit should be celebrated, and our goal in participating in Rapid Pitch is to encourage that spirit,” said Laurie Suire, president/CEO of OneAcadia, in a news release. “By cultivating a network of entrepreneurs in our region, we have the opportunity to identify some truly viable businesses that will impact our economy.”
Those who are selected to participate in Rapid Pitch will receive feedback and assistance on their presentations from Opportunity Machine staff prior to the event.
Audience members also are encouraged to register online for the event.
“Having a broad cross-section of audience members is imperative for pitch events,” Zachary Barker, executive director of The Opportunity Machine, said in a news release. “Those who are pitching are not always in need of financial capital. Often, they need a partner with a specific skill set that can catapult a good idea into an outstanding and marketable product.”
