LAFAYETTE - Greensburg native Joseph Dunn has been named the new executive director of the Council for the Development of French in Louisiana.

Dunn was most recently employed as the audiovisual and artistic attach? within the New Orleans office of the Consulate General of France.

Dunn replaces David Cheramie, who left the post after 13 years to become the chief executive officer of the Bayou Vermilion District.

Dunn’s past experiences include positions with the Louisiana Travel Promotion Association, the Office of Cultural Development and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

Dunn will lead the agency through the implementation of legislation that calls for the expansion of French immersion programs in the state, according to an agency news release.
