The Downtown Lafayette Restaurant and Bar Association will host a July 4 celebration from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Parc International in downtown Lafayette.

Scheduled performers for “Uncle Sam’s Jam” are Roddie Romero and the Hub City Allstars, Ray Boudreaux, Travis Ewing and Chris Reed.

The Children’s Museum of Acadiana will offer kids activities. The evening ends with a fireworks show.

Admission is free.

Food and drinks will be available for sale from several downtown restaurants and bars.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Downtown Restaurant and Bar Association, the Children’s Museum of Acadiana, Festival International and American Legion Post 69.

Wind symphony concert

The Acadiana Wind Symphony will present a free summer concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Angelle Hall on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette campus.

Guest conductor Ralph Ford will lead the symphony in a performance of Ford’s “Sea to Sky Suite.”

The show also will feature a performance by UL-Lafayette professor and guitarist Jeff George of a traditional Chinese piece transcribed for guitar and band.

Registration is open for the 2015 Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition, which is set for Oct. 27 through Oct. 29 in Lafayette.

Admission is free but limited to oil-and-gas industry professionals.

St. Martin Relay for Life

The St. Martin Parish Relay for Life is set for 6 p. m. to midnight on Friday at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge.

Events include a “Survivor’s Walk” and a tribute to cancer survivors.

New clinic director

Skyra Rideaux has been named the new executive director of the Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic, which serves residents without health insurance.

Rideaux most recently worked as events and public relations manager for the Louisiana Immersive Technology Enterprise.
