LAFAYETTE — Attorney Kay Karré Gautreaux has announced her candidacy for 15th Judicial District Judge, Division M.
Gautreaux is running for the seat vacated by Phyllis M. Keaty, who was elected to the Louisiana 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal.
Gautreaux has been practicing law for 24 years in both state and federal courts. She has also served on the Lafayette Parish Bar Association Board of Directors, is a member of the Lafayette Volunteer Lawyers and is a barrister in the John M. Duhe Inn of Court, according to an announcement news release.
Gautreaux is active in civic organizations and church, serving on the board of directors for Our Lady of Fatima School. She is also the president of the alumni council, chairman of the Fatima Foundation’s Blue and Gold Committee and president of the Fatima Athletic Booster Club, according to the release.
Gautreaux is the daughter of former prosecutor and Lafayette City Attorney Albert Karré and Inez Boustany Karré. She is married to Mitch Gautreaux and they have two children, Matthew and Michelle, the release says.
