Salons and spas throughout Acadiana are holding special “Cuts for a Cure” events to provide more funding to help find a cure for breast cancer and support those in the community who are suffering from cancer.

All funds raised through these events will benefit the Acadiana affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.

Ghost hunting class set

Continuing Education at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette offers a course that studies a practical approach to paranormal investigating.

Students will learn the proper methods of obtaining evidence, what types of evidence to collect and how to debunk events that have logical explanations.

Louisiana Spirits Paranormal investigators will take students through three sessions.

The first meeting will be a classroom presentation.

A hands-on investigation of a reportedly “haunted” location will take place in the second session.

A third meeting will be used to analyze and discuss findings.

The course will be held Thursday through Sunday at a cost of $69.

Crazy for Coupons

The Iberia Parish Library will host “Crazy for Coupons for Beginners” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Parkview Library.

The second installment will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and will focus on specific store policies, give interactive examples and also map out the best times to go shopping.

Market at the Oil Center

The Oil Center’s Open Air Antique & Arts Market is scheduled from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday at the LGMC Medical Plaza, 427 Heymann Blvd., across from Champagne’s Supermarket.

The market, which happens the second Saturday of every month, showcases local antique dealers and artisans.

Admission is free.

Film Festival at the ACA

Camp Bon Coeur will host its Eighth Trivia Night on Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Lafayette.

The fundraising event raises money for children and families affected by congenital heart defects.

A donation of $30 secures you a spot on your team of six to eight people, and provides you with dinner and snacks.
