The Acadiana Center for the Arts will host its third annual Brewmaster’s Dinner fundraiser on June 30.

Five area chefs will each prepare one course of a five-course meal, with beers selected to complement the food.

The event begins with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed with dinner at 7 p.m. in the James Devin Moncus Theater at the ACA downtown.

Tickets are $75 per seat or $500 for a table of eight.

Seating is limited.

ACA will continue with the beer theme next month with the organization’s annual Gulf Brew Beer Festival, scheduled for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 23 at Parc International downtown.

NAACP Banquet

NAACP chapters in Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin and Vermilion parishes are hosting a joint banquet Saturday at the Heymann Performing Arts Center in Lafayette.

The speaker will be Claude Anderson, author of “Power Nomics.”

Recreation week

The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Department is holding three special events next month as part of the city’s annual Parks and Recreation Week.

Pickleball Day is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. July 6, the Thomas Center; a day for seniors is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7, Martin Luther King Center; and a carnival for kids is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 8, at Girard Park.

Foreclosure workshop

City-parish government’s Neighborhood Counseling Services is hosting a workshop Wednesday for homeowners who are facing past-due mortgage bills and possible foreclosure.

The “Home Preservation Strategies” workshop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Clifton Chenier Center, 220 West Will St., Lafayette.
