A panel of experts will discuss the serious problem of drunken driving and vehicular homicide in Acadiana during the Acadiana Press Club’s monthly newsmaker forum at noon Monday at The Daily Advertiser, 1100 Bertrand Drive.
The panel will include: John A. LeBlanc, executive director of the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission; Jacob Corbell, specialty court director for the 15th Judicial District; Rob Reardon, director of corrections at the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center; and Rachel Godeau, of the Knowledge Effect, a Lafayette Parish organization that brings awareness to the dangers of substance abuse in the community.
The panel will discuss the problem and potential solutions and will field questions from press club members.
The Bus Stop Food Truck will be on site for those interested in purchasing a lunch before the forum begins.
The lunch forum and membership in the Acadiana Press Club are open to journalists, media professionals, public relations professionals, public information officers, communication professors and students, retired journalists, civic and political leaders and the general public.
