Acadiana High students and staff returned to the school building to resume classes around 11 a.m. Wednesday after evacuating earlier in the morning because of a bomb threat, said Randy Bernard, a Lafayette Parish Schools spokesman.

"Emergency officials have searched the school and found nothing out of order," he said.

The evacuation was ordered after a student found a hand-written note on campus that stated there was a bomb in the building, said Mona Bernard, the school system's risk manager and spokeswoman. Bernard said students were evacuated to the stadium.

Mona Bernard said three bomb-sniffing dogs that swept the building didn't find any suspicious devices.
