Lafayette man, 33, sought in shooting
LAFAYETTE - Police are searching for a 33-year-old Lafayette man who allegedly fired multiple shots into a home in the 100 block of Hogan Drive early Wednesday morning, Lafayette police said in a news release.
Victims told authorities that they were sleeping when several gunshots awoke them, the release says.
An arrest warrant for attempted first-degree murder was issued for Tyson J. Thibeaux on Wednesday afternoon, the release says.
Anyone with information as to Thibeaux’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
Breaux Bridge man held in burglaries
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 24-year-old Breaux Bridge man in a vehicle burglary spree that occurred in the parish, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
Hayven De’Von Auguillard has been jailed in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center since July 1 in numerous other burglaries in Lafayette Parish, the Sheriff’s Office said in the news release.
The Sheriff’s Office is trying to recover the stolen property, but Auguillard is not cooperating with investigators, the release says.
He remains incarcerated at L.P.C.C., the release says.
Gunman steals purse from woman
NEW IBERIA - The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said a woman was robbed of her purse at gunpoint Tuesday night at 1202 E. Admiral Doyle, New Iberia, according to a news release.
The victim told detectives that she was approached by a black man wearing a white T-shirt, blue jean shorts and wearing a white plastic bag over his head, the release says.
The man fled after robbing the woman of her purse, the release says. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call (337) 369-3711.
