LHC Group Inc., a Lafayette-based home nursing company, reported its first-quarter profit climbed to $6.8 million, or 39 cents per share, compared to $4.1 million, or 24 cents per share, a year ago.
The company’s revenue rose 18 percent to $193.1 million.
Wall Street analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had forecast earnings of 35 cents per share on revenue of $188.9 million.
The company raised 2015 guidance by 5 cents per share to a range of $1.55 to $1.70 and revenue projections by $10 million, to a range of $765 million to $780 million. Stock analysts are predicting a profit of $1.61 per share on revenue of $775.2 million.
