The Louisiana Gulf Coast Oil Exposition is reaching out to artists interested in creating the official LAGCOE 2015 commemorative poster.

The winning artist and design will be honored at a preview party before the three-day biennial event kicks off in late October.

There is no limit to the number of designs an artist can submit. For design specifications and how to submit the works, log onto or call the LAGCOE office in Lafayette at (337) 235-4055.

Submissions will be taken until June 15.

The winner of the contest will receive a framed print of the design at the LAGCOE 2015 preview party on Oct. 26, a party that also will welcome the exposition’s exhibitors and sponsors.

LAGCOE 2015, which will feature oil and gas companies inside and outside the Cajundome and Convention Center, will run Oct. 27-29.

“Traditionally, the poster is given to hundreds of LAGCOE volunteers and available to thousands of LAGCOE attendees at each show,” Lauren Rabalais, LAGCOE spokeswoman, said.

Past posters are considered collectibles and adorn the walls of industry leaders around the world, Rabalais said in a news release.

The winner of the poster contest will have the work recognized on the LAGCOE website — — and will be featured in a news release, Rabalais said.

LAGCOE is a nonprofit organization that since 1955 has hosted one of the world’s pioneering oil and gas expositions in Lafayette, considered the heart of America’s energy corridor, Rabalais said.
