The Evangeline Parish District Attorney decided not to meet Monday with the family of Dejuan Guillory, the man shot and killed in July by an Evangeline Parish Sheriff's deputy.

State Police investigated the shooting and arrested Guillory's girlfriend, booking her on attempted first-degree murder of a police officer. State Police completed their investigation in November, and turned over their findings to District Attorney Brent Brignac's office.

In a news release Monday, the District Attorney's Office says "recent events have raised the concern that any information provided (to the family) may be made public before the legal process can take its course."
