Acadiana manufacturers are invited to an Aug. 5 seminar in Lafayette on how companies can capitalize on the region’s growing aviation industry.

The seminar is being hosted by the Lafayette Economic Development Authority, One Acadiana, the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of Louisiana and South Louisiana Community College.

Last-minute registration, along with a meet-and-greet session, will begin at 1 p.m. in the community college auditorium at 320 Devalcourt St. The seminar ends at 5 p.m.

The seminar is designed to introduce Acadiana companies, especially those in the energy industry, to the growing south Louisiana aviation sector.

The event will focus on suppliers, quality management systems, insurance and other areas.

Bell Helicopters, which is completing a manufacturing center at the Lafayette Regional Airport, will take part in the seminar.
