Hospice of Acadiana will hold its annual Gigantic Garage Sale fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Lafayette Event Center on Johnston Street.

LWV awards

The League of Women Voters of Lafayette will hold its Just Desserts Awards from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette.

The group will honor Earl “Nickey” Picard, Celeste White, Melinda Taylor, Nick Pugh and Elaine Abell for their work in the community.

Tax volunteers sought

The AARP Foundation is seeking volunteers to help fill out tax returns for the group’s Tax-Aide program.

Volunteers will provide tax help at the Clifton Chenier Library in Lafayette on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 2 through April 14.

Lego Movie in the Parc

Downtown Lafayette’s “Movies in the Parc” series will feature “The Lego Movie” on Saturday at Parc International.

Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at dusk.

Admission is $3. Children 5 and under are free.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Holiday art market

The Lafayette Art Association will host a holiday art market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1008 E. St. Mary Blvd.

Artists will be on site to discuss their work.

This year’s market will feature metal work, glass work, jewelry, paintings, fiber work and mixed media.
