Judice Middle closed Friday
LAFAYETTE — Judice Middle School will be closed Friday for heater repairs, the school system announced Thursday.
Repairs will be made Friday, but because of the forecast of cold weather, no classes will be held. The school will reopen Monday.
The parish school system closed Evangeline Elementary on Thursday for heater repairs.
Meet the new superintendent finalists
LAFAYETTE — The Lafayette Parish School System will hold a public meeting with the three finalists for the superintendent job at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the LITE Center.
The meeting will include PowerPoint presentations from each finalist, and two question-and-answer sessions.
In the first session, finalists will answer questions submitted from the public via an online question form at http://www.lpssonline.com.
After that session, questioning will be opened up to people attending the meeting.
The online question form will be closed at 5 p.m. Sunday. Anyone who does not have access to a computer may call the Marketing Office at (337) 521-7044 to submit a question.
Concert to benefit training center
LAFAYETTE — The Bayou Harp Circle will hold its seventh annual Christmas concert, “Harps and Handbells for the Holidays,” at 7 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Affiliated School for the Blind Training Center, 409 W. St. Mary.
Admission is free of charge, but donations will be accepted to benefit the Affiliated Blind of Louisiana Inc.
Last year, the concert raised $1,700 for the training center, according to a news release. The training center is a private, nonprofit organization that provides services and training to the visually impaired, blind and deaf-blind.
