Festival International de Louisiane Executive Director Missy Paschke-Wood resigned Monday, the festival’s board of directors announced in a news release.
Paschke-Wood has served as director of the downtown international music and arts festival since October 2013.
“I’m very proud of the work we’ve done together over the past two years and am grateful to have been a part of Acadiana’s crown jewel. I look forward to joining my many festival friends in the audience at the 30th anniversary in 2016,” Paschke-Wood said in the written announcement of her resignation.
The festival board has scheduled a Tuesday news conference to discuss leadership for the festival going forward.
Before taking the job as festival director, Paschke-Wood had worked as marketing and development director at Yavapai Humane Society in Prescott, Arizona, and marketing manager for Arizona Theatre Co.
She relocated to Lafayette in 2013 when her husband accepted a job as a librarian and professor at the Edith Garland Dupré Library at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
“We are very grateful to Missy for her hard work and guidance,” Festival Board President Scott Feehan said in the announcement. “She was instrumental in finding and implementing our new volunteer system, our donor software and countless other improvements to our day-to- day functions. While we will miss her, we certainly wish her the very best in her future endeavors.”
