Even Santa Claus needs to stock up on fresh fruits, veggies and locally made goods. The big, jolly guy will make a visit to the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday for photos and to listen to wishes.

The market will stay open until 1 p.m. to accommodate holiday shopping for handcrafted gifts.

From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Sarah Jayde and Forrest Huval will lead the weekly Cajun jam.

Graduation Mass Thursday

The Baccalaureate Mass, a special Mass of thanksgiving for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s fall 2014 graduates, will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Wisdom Church on campus.

Graduates and faculty are invited to attend and to wear their caps and gowns to the procession. A wine and cheese reception will follow.

Parking is available at the Earl K. Long Gym parking lot across from the church.

Coastal meeting Tuesday

The Chenier Plain Coastal Restoration & Protection Authority will hold its monthly public meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Vermilion Parish Courthouse in the Police Jury Room, 100 N. State St., Abbeville.

Hunter field day scheduled

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is offering a Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Hunter Education Field Day from 8 a.m. until noon Sunday at the Patterson Civic Center.

The second portion of the event will be held at St. Mary Parish’s shooting range in Franklin. Students must attend the classroom and range portions of the event.
