Fourth on the fifth

St. Mary tourism officials say Independence Day celebrations this year will occur on both sides of the Atchafalaya River, in Morgan City and in Berwick.

Morgan City will hold its traditional Rock the 5th party starting at 1 p.m. Sunday in downtown Lawrence Park.

Berwick will begin its Rock the 5th Patriotic Celebration at 5 p.m. on the riverfront.

Both celebrations will feature live music and food booths, and attendees on both sides of the river will be able to view the fireworks from their launch in the middle of the Atchafalaya.
