A grand jury on Wednesday charged a Lafayette man with second-degree murder in the July shooting death of a 19-year-old man.
Felix Pierre III, 24, 110 Gilbert St., is accused of killing Deontra Alexander, of Lafayette.
Police arrested Pierre on the same day as the July 29 shooting, which happened at a home on 12th Street. Alexander died of a single gunshot wound, police have said.
If convicted, Pierre faces life in prison without possibility of parole or a suspended sentence.
He’s remained in the Lafayette Parish jail since his arrest in lieu of a $500,000 bail.
