LAFAYETTE — The Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise Center will hold a full day of presentations on research and its visualization capabilities on Aug. 19, a news release says.
The event features three different sessions:
• 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Focuses visualization of geological data with members of the U.S. Geological Survey, University of Louisiana at Lafayette and LITE discussing it.
• 10:30 a.m. to noon: Focuses on immersive learning environments with members of the Louisiana Department of Transportation sharing about recent research.
• 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Focuses on volumetric medical-scan visualizations with a presentation by Dr. Mark Stellingworth, a cardiologist at University Medical Center and representatives of TeraRecon and Medtronics.
The traditional open house to tour the building and visualization venues will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Visitors will also have an opportunity to view the ULL CREATE omni-directional treadmill and other visualizations from Christie Digital.
The events are free and open to the public.
