Acadiana bartenders will face off March 27 in a “Clash of the Cocktails” fundraiser to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana.

The event, which also will feature a silent auction, art and food from the Village Cafe, will be held at the Madison in Broussard.

Head Start applications

The United Way of Acadiana will accept applications for its Early Head Start Early Learning Centers in Lafayette and Vermilion parishes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday.

The Lafayette Parish center is at 1515 Jefferson St., Lafayette.

The Vermilion Parish center is at 802 S. St. Valerie St., Abbeville.

The centers offer free early childhood education programs to qualifying families.

Centanni hosts meeting

Lafayette Parish School Board District 6 member Justin Centanni will host a community forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria of Myrtle Place Elementary School.

The forum will offer residents a chance to give general comments and feedback about the school system.

Chinese New Year show

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will host a Chinese New Year performance of music, dance and martial arts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday in the Bayou Bijou Theater at UL-Lafayette’s Student Union.

The performance is free, but reservations are encouraged.

The Upper Lafayette Economic Development Foundation will host a “2015 Philanthropy in Action” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 18 at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette.
