A Morgan City man is in custody and accused as an accomplice in a Monday afternoon fatal shooting in Lafayette, and police have issued a warrant for the man they believe pulled the trigger.

Police around 7 a.m. Tuesday booked Quentin J. Cooper, 25, on a count of principal to first-degree murder in the killing of 18-year-old Dravin Stevenson at a home in the 300 block of Sunnyside Lane, according to the Lafayette Police Department.

Wanted is 37-year-old Lawrence Lynel Blackburn, also of Morgan City, on a count of first-degree murder, police said. A 19-year-old man also injured in the shooting remains in critical condition at an area hospital.

Witnesses said five people were inside the Sunnyside Lane home when two men entered and began shooting before fleeing in a red truck, police said. One of the victims, Stevenson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
