A Lafayette motorcyclist died at a hospital Sunday night after the driver of an SUV pulled out in front of him, causing a crash that ejected the man from his motorcycle.

Juan Terry-Gonzales, 19, was headed north in the 4600 block of Johnston Street about 8:30 p.m. when a 39-year-old woman pulled out in front of him in a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, according to the Lafayette Police Department. The two vehicles collided, and Gonzales was ejected into the roadway, where he suffered fatal injuries.

The woman, from Kaplan, was cited for failure to yield from a private lot.

The crash remains under investigation.
