A Eunice woman is accused of kidnapping her children Friday morning before authorities found her a few hours later hiding in a plastic drum in a pasture, according to the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Sunnie Andrepont, 31, locked herself in a bathroom with her two children, ages 4 and 10, during a 7 a.m. supervised visit in the 2300 block of Fournerat Road near Eunice, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
Deputies soon found Andrepont hiding in a nearby field with the 4-year-old child. Both children were returned to their father unharmed.
Andrepont was arrested on two counts each of aggravated kidnapping and cruelty to juveniles and one count of resisting arrest.
She remained in the Acadia Parish jail on Friday afternoon in lieu of a $145,000 bail.
