A Lafayette man wanted since October in a Simcoe Street shooting was arrested Tuesday.

Terrence Augustine, 29, was booked on a count of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of fugitive, according to booking records. He was suspected in an Oct. 12 shooting in the 900 block of East Simcoe Street.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot once in the hand and twice in the chest, police said at the time.

Augustine remained in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Wednesday morning on a $75,000 bond.
