OPELOUSAS — An Opelousas man has been booked on counts of hauling marijuana, crack cocaine and designer drugs into St. Landry Parish following a Sheriff’s Office undercover investigation, Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said.
Michael A. Cain, 177 Midway Exit Drive, Opelousas, did not put up a fight when he was arrested at his home Feb. 19, Guidroz said in a news release Wednesday.
“The street value of just the marijuana alone was worth $135,000,” Guidroz said.
Cain, 31, is accused of transporting the drugs from Texas in several vehicles with hidden compartments.
He is being held without bail on counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, crack cocaine and Ecstasy; transactions involving drug sales; possession of drug paraphernalia; and one count of having drugs in a drug-free zone, the release said.
