The driver of a Hummer H2 involved in a pedestrian fatality, Michael John, 34, contacted Louisiana State Police Troop I and informed Troopers he was the driver of the vehicle involved in the Sunday morning crash, Master Trooper Brooks David said in a news release.

Investigators questioned the Breaux Bridge man and then secured an arrest warrant for felony hit and run, David said. John was booked at the St. Martin Parish Jail. 

Dorine Johnnie, 51, of Lafayette, was killed in the hit and run La. 92-1 in St. Martin Parish near Fontelieu Road near Cade, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police.

Investigators determined the vehicle, which was traveling east on La. 92-1, struck Johnnie in the eastbound lane.

Authorities are searching for a vehicle after a pedestrian was fatally struck Sunday morning on La. 92-1 in St. Martin Parish.

Dorine Johnnie, 51, of Lafayette, was killed in the hit and run near Fontelieu Road near Cade, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police.

Investigators determined the vehicle was traveling east on La. 92-1 and struck Johnnie in the eastbound lane.

The driver may have been driving a white 2003-2009 Hummer H2 with the passenger side end cap missing and likely other damage to the front, according to police.
