A 17-year-old from Krotz Springs died early Saturday morning after driving off a road and hitting a metal bridge rail in St. Landry Parish, according to a Louisiana State Police news release.

The teen, Aaron Quebedeaux, was driving around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 190 near Three Mile Lake Road when he drove off the road at a curve, police said. After hitting the rail, the vehicle overturned and he was ejected from the vehicle, police said.

Quebedeaux was not wearing a seat belt and died on the scene of the crash, police said.

Investigators do not know if impairment was a factor in the crash, but took a toxicology sample from the teen. The crash remains under investigation.
