Lafayette police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon robbery of a MidSouth Bank branch on Heyman Boulevard, police said.

The heist occurred at 4:20 p.m. when a heavily clothed man with a white rag covering his face walked into the bank and handed a teller a note that demanded money, Cpl. Paul Mouton said.

The man left the bank through the front door and walked onto Heyman Boulevard with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Mouton said the unidentified man did not pull a weapon on bank employees.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lafayette police or Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.
