A Duson man faces one count each of manslaughter and aggravated battery in a weekend shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized.
Perry Alleman, 49, confessed to shooting 49-year-old Todd Lemaire late Saturday after the two argued at Alleman’s home at 818 Third St., according to the affidavit for his arrest.
Alleman arrived home that night to find Lemaire in the bathroom with a woman who was bathing. Lemaire and the women were both friends of Alleman’s, but Lemaire’s “presence (at the home that night) was unwanted,” according to the affidavit.
When Alleman asked him to leave, Lemaire reportedly became irate and aggressive, repeatedly entering and exiting the home while advancing toward Alleman.
An unnamed 23-year-old man was also at the home that night. As he tried to intervene, Alleman fired a single shot that tore through the 23-year-old’s hand and fatally wounded Lemaire in the chest, according to the affidavit.
Alleman also faces one count of aggravated battery for injuring the 23-year-old and remains in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a $100,000 bail.
He’s expected in court on Tuesday.
