BROUSSARD — Police arrested two Lafayette men early Friday accused of burglarizing a vehicle in the Sundown subdivision on Longleaf Drive.
Donavon Robertson, 22, and Lawrence Hunter, 17, were taken into custody after police pulled them over for an “investigative stop” on Broadview Drive and found five handguns, pills and stolen property in the vehicle, Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou said. An iPhone 5 found in the vehicle was reported stolen from St. Martin Parish.
Two juveniles were also in the vehicle but were released after questioning, Decou said.
Robertson and Hunter were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on one count each of simple burglary, possession of stolen property and possession of a Schedule IV substance; five counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled substance; and two counts each of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles and illegal use of a controlled substance in the presence of juveniles.
